Shropshire Council’s Local Plan Review proposes that Ford Village (not the whole parish) becomes a community hub which means the following:
• Total 100 new dwellings 2016-2036
• Proposed allocated site for 50 dwellings – land at A458 and Butt Lane
• Site for 28 affordable dwellings on A458 (already permitted)
• Windfall allowance – 19 dwellings
• A development boundary for Ford

The document entitled Shrewsbury Place Plan Area is particularly relevant to Ford. There is much material and background documents on the website so we have put copies of some of the key items relating to Ford below. These are:
The settlement strategy for Ford - including a map of the allocated site and development boundary. Map showing both the proposed allocated site and other sites considered. This map is slightly confusing as it shows sites which were considered but that are not proposed for allocation as sites with longer term development potential and it also classifies the proposed allocated site as a site with longer term development potential, hence not distinguishing clearly between the two categories. It is our understanding that there is no specific timescale as yet for the potential delivery of the proposed site but the word long-term does not necessarily mean that it will not be built until the end of the period of the Local Plan. We are trying to clarify this with Shropshire Council. Red sites means ones considered but that do not have development potential.
Please note that these plans have not been endorsed by the Parish Council and we are yet to comment but will be - we have published the key info here to try and help residents find it as we are conscious there are many parts to the consultation material.
