The Shropshire Local Plan Review will set a development strategy to 2038. This includes the proposed allocation of Ford as a community hub for circa 125 dwellings. The Pre-Submission (Reg 18) draft of the Local Plan is currently out for consultation. The parish council has produced a summary within the newsletter on the Local Plan which can be downloaded below.

The Parish Council is holding a public meeting, remotely via Zoom on 8th September 2020 at 7pm

The parish council has decided that the play area needs to remain closed. The government guidance is very specific and at the present time the parish council feels the risk of reopening is too high. The wider playing field area is open but we would urge people to socially distance and ensure good hygiene.

The coronavirus pandemic is one of the biggest challenges our society has seen and we are grateful to the community for coming together to fight this. Key info can be found here:


The parish council has had to make some changes to how it operates during the coronavirus pandemic. The key changes are

1) The play area and ball court within the recreation field will be fully closed until further notice. The field itself remains open.

2) The 14th April Annual Parish Meeting is cancelled. Further meetings are under review.

3) The parish council has set up arrangments to deal with urgent business via email - please email chsparishcouncil@gmail.com with any parish matters

The Ford Young Persons Group (youth club) is having to consider closing due to a lack of volunteers and falling numbers. A meeting has been organised to discuss this on 27th Feb at 8pm. Please see attached poster and agenda - all are welcome to attend
